Use Case: Parent-Child Hierarchies (Business Analyst)

As a business analyst, do you want to know how to use a “Parent-Child” Hierarchy? Parent child hierarchies are typically used for organizational data and accounting data. They are particularly useful for accounting purposes, because they enable you to define the operator for each attribute in the hierarchy. For example, you can define a minus ( – ) operator for Expenses, to ensure that expenses are subtracted from the total, rather than added to it. In this use case, we will show you how to use these hierarchies in a Discover report.
